Radiation Shield with PT100 Sensor
Weather shelter with a PT100 sensor for ambient temperature measurement, protecting the sensor from direct sunlight and weather exposure.
Description
The Electron AME multi-plate radiation shield protects relative humidity and temperature sensors from solar radiation and rain. Developed to meet the meteorology market's needs for quality and affordability, this shield has a specially designed profile that promotes nonturbulent air circulation, improving sensor response in terms of representativeness and response time.
The Electron AME radiation shield consists of eight aluminum plates separated by nylon spacers in a configuration that protects the sensing element from incident radiation reflected by rain, even in strong winds.
The plate profile diverts water droplets and dust away from the internal sensor, allowing them to collect and run off along the outer or inner edges of the plates. All aluminum parts of the shield are anodized in accordance with marine application standards and finished with a glossy white powder coating to reduce thermal conductivity. The nylon spacers also insulate the aluminum parts from the three stainless steel mounting rods, preventing galvanic corrosion.
