RT49

The RT-49 Relay is used for thermal protection of transformers and motors (ANSI-49) through PTC sensors (DIN 44081 and DIN 44082). Up to 4 sensors can be connected in series to each of its 2 independent inputs. Each input has a NO/NC relay that operates when the PTC temperature is reached, which can also be checked using the indicator LEDs on the instrument's front panel.

The RT-49 has a continuous sensor integrity checking system that indicates any sensor fault or break through a front-panel LED. It also has an exclusive test system that allows the operator to activate the relays at any time without raising the temperature, to check the installations and alarm operation in the control room.

The RT-49 is manufactured to the strictest quality standards and designed to simplify work for the panel designers and builders who use it. Its ABS enclosure is very compact (22.5 mm), considerably reducing the space required in the design. It also has an exclusive electrical terminal (connector) fitting system that makes disconnection easier for applied-voltage tests on the transformer and switching operations.

The relay module circuit is microprocessor-based, fully isolated and protected against surges and electrical induction. It is built to strict quality standards and uses state-of-the-art electronic components (SMD). Its hardware is designed to withstand harsh operating conditions and can be installed directly on power transformers and reactors, in panels in power substation yards, offshore platforms and chemical plants. It meets the requirements for performance, withstand capability and reliability specified by IEC, DIN, IEEE and ABNT standards.
