RIN
Liquid Level Indicating Relay with Photoelectric Sensor
Level indication relay with a photoelectric sensor for detecting the presence or absence of liquid in tanks and equipment.
Description
The Level Indicating Relay (RIN) was developed to “detect the absence of liquid (oil, water, etc.) in corrugated-tank (hermetically sealed) transformers and liquid tanks in general,” with the aim of “continuously monitoring integrity for leaks.” This device is essential for ensuring industrial equipment safety and proper operation by detecting the absence of liquids that could compromise operation.
The RIN monitors liquid level through a photoelectric sensor. This sensor continuously detects the presence of liquid (oil, water or any liquid), operating at temperatures up to 120°C. The detection mechanism is based on light refraction.
According to the manual: “This sensor operates through light refraction. When the polysulfone dome, made of a material from the high-performance thermoplastic family, detects the absence of liquid, the sensor instantly detects internal variations caused by this refraction and immediately activates the relay in the sensor's power and control module.”
The RIN module is microprocessor-based, fully isolated and protected against electrical surges and induction, using state-of-the-art electronic components (SMD) and built to “strict quality standards.” Its hardware is designed to “withstand harsh operating conditions.”
The RIN can be installed directly in:
- Transformers and industrial-size tanks in power substations.
- Offshore platforms.
- Chemical plants.
It meets the requirements for performance, support and reliability specified by IEC, DIN, IEEE and ABNT standards.
